Information on the effect of lycopene in poultry diet on its meat quality are scarce. An experiment was conducted to determine the potential effect of lycopene on performance and quality of meat in broiler chickens. It was found that the dietary supplement of lycopene significantly increased the final live weight of broilers. However, any significant effect of diet lycopene on diet mixture intake and mortality was not proved.
