The Research Institute of Animal Production (RIANIM) has systematically maintained a registry of preservatives and stabilizers for forage crops since 1989. The updated database for 2026 lists 144 products available on the Czech market – 81 biological inoculants, 55 chemical preservatives and 8 combined preparations, representing a decline of 8 entries compared to the previous year. Changes include the discontinuation of selected products, product renaming, and the reclassification of bacterial strain DSM 19455 from Lactobacillus kefiri to Lentilactobacillus buchneri in accordance with EU Regulation 2024/1196. Market analysis reveals a trend towards more complex multi-strain biological preparations combining homofermentative and heterofermentative bacteria, an increasing proportion of enzymatic components, and growing interest in organic solutions.
