Abstract

The imports of sires after year 1990 can not be assessed from the point of kg of milk contents as successful and selection was even devaluated. Reliability of breeding value (BV) depends on the number of progeny. If the test-mating is organised well, foreign relationship not improve the reliability of sires significantly. Reliability of BV after conversion from abroad depends on the genetic correlation between countries. Only in a case of very high reliability in the country of origin achieve the required value 0.75. To reach the same BV of selected sires, there is sufficient to test half number of young bulls in domestic condition. BV calculated for each country by Interbull makes the international trade of sperm transparent.
